News cases on private detectives

A beautiful 15 years girl who played truant and stayed out overnight usually, studying at a junior high school in Guangzhou. Her parents question her so many times but no answer that they entrusted private detectives to investigate her. As a result, they found out that she cohabited with a boy outside. It is reported by a private detective company that they accept similar cases more and more.

Recently, one consultation company in Guangzhou accepted a special investigation business. The client was a middle-aged woman, and the informant was her daughter named Xiaoqi, who was a 15 years student.  

The client told that Xiaoqi was an underachiever and usually stayed out overnight recently. Her teacher also reflected that she played truant many times. Because the client and her husband were very busy with work usually, they had no time to teach their daughter. She allowed them ask for reason but never told  truth. She just said that she had no hope to pass the graduation exam. Her mother worried about her so that asked detectives for help.  

After accepting the case, detectives searched after her at an Internet bar, according to her pictures provided by her parents. She is very beautiful and over 1.7 meter, though she was only 15 years. She was playing crazy with a group of girls and boys. And they idled away in seeking pleasure far into the night. After saying goodbye, she entered a residence building with a boy alone but didn’t come out all night.  

It was said that the boy didn’t live together with his parents, and his family had some housing possibly. Detectives doubted that he had cohabited with Xiaoqi for many days, but their parents all were unwitting.  Detectives told the fact to the client. She felt serious and dared not to question Xiaoqi, in order no to hurt her. She thought that she neglected to teach her daughter, for working busily. So she specially extruded some time to communicate with her daughter and tried hard for remediation.     

The boy didn’t take the car so that his parents entrusted detectives to protect him.

Detectives protected a 16-year high school boy who came from western Guangdong,  Xiaojian recently.  

He studied at Nanhai branch school of a famous high school. Not long ago, the school organized students to go to Guangzhou for tour. His parents arranged a car and booked a hotel for him. But he refused and insisted to take the school bus. This unusual activity caused his parents' suspicion and worry. So the detectives of an investigation company had been waiting for him when the school bus arrived in Guangzhou. Detectives discovered that he didn’t entry the park to attend the activity when  bus arrived in the martyr memorial park. He and a few classmates entered an Internet bar near the park to play the network games. Then, he went to some other place, such as the Tianhe mall……etc. And he lodged at a classmate’s home for night.       

Detectives ended their protection until he got on the school bus at the second day 19:00. Then, detectives reported the whereabouts of two days to his parents, showed he didn't derail. His parents disburdened until then.  

This kind of case becomes a new business of the private detective companies.

As a chief of a consultation company in Guangzhou,  MR. Chen says that it comes out a new kind of business —— parents entrust detectives to investigate their children. It takes on increscent trend recently. Reporters interviewed other consultation companies, and known that they have accepted many similar cases.  

Chen says that some parents ask detectives for help in order that their children will not get bad, for having no time to teach their children.  

He says that  students who are investigated usually only know to play. They have never cognized that they were followed. Detectives only take charge of investigation according to the commitment. They don't know  parents how to deal with the result. But they usually emphasize that parents shouldn't let the investigation out to their children.

Experts say that parents would rather hire a PD than communicate with their children. It’s more important for them to help their children in time.

As a director of the Guangdong Family Education Seminar and the headmaster of 109 middle school, Zhang Zhongqing says that it's not a good way for parents to entrust detectives to investigate their children, in view of the educational regulation which let children grow up healthily. But it can play the certain role in helping  parents to teach children when they have already lost control of them or they have really misbehaved.   

Zhang says that people can't simply judge it good or not. The educational regulation promotes to give strong encouragements and strict directs to children during their growth. It disobeys the regulation to ask detectives to trail after them. Its  advantage is to help parents to know about and control children's situation in time， when they have really misbehaved, so that parents can make some remedy.   

Zhang reminds parents that it should be better if they can work well to teach their children before they misbehave.

It may result in trust crisis.

A associate professor of the education department of Guangzhou university, Lin Donggui says that it easily result in trust crisis when children find their parents ask detectives to investigate them for doubt. They will not trust their parents any more.  

Lin says that is a distrustful and disrespectful behavior for parents to ask detectives to follow their children. In view of the pedagogy angle, it is the foundation or precondition of education to give children respect and trust. If parents lose this foundation to teach children, it will be more difficult for children to accept.  

Lin suggests parents should discover the misbehavior symptom of children and take some steps as early as possible. It is more difficult to teach children when the affair has developed to need ask detectives for help. Parents should be more tolerant and comprehending when the symptom appears, should listen attentively to the children's aspirations, shouldn't cry down in stern voice or take forcible steps and should let children feel the warmth of family so that they can understand their concern.

How to deal with if your parents ask detectives to follow you? Reporters interview some students in school. A Grade six student of Xianlie Zhonglu elementary school, Xiaoyun says that she will feel bad and uneasy if she was followed. Once she discovers it, she will pull with the distance more far between she and her parents, and will not trust them any more.

A first-grade girl of the sixth middle school shows more drastically. If her parents treat her like that, she will take some extreme step for protest, such as running away from home. During interview, reporters find that it has 30% students will run away from home to protest the distrustful behavior of their parents.  

Some students show understanding. A grade-two girl of the ninety-seventh middle school says that this activity of parents is because of their concern. Children also have the responsibility if their parents entrust detectives. They must have had some unwonted activities that let their parents worry about. She will be very disappointed and feel sad very much if she meets with it herself.

Parents: it is not an inadvisable way for them to entrust detectives to follow their children.

A mother, Ms Deng says that entrusting detectives is another way for parents if they really have no time to take care of their children. It is similar to ask relatives to take care of them. Children are underage after all and need to be warded.

But more parents hold an oppositive attitude to this. Many parents think that it is very absurd. They say that they should think much of how to teach and communicate with children by themselves but not to ask detectives to follow their children. It only explains that parents breach of duty if they can’t control their children.  

A parent working in the subsidiary hospital of Zhongshan university tells reporters that he believes only who are busy with work whole day and are ignorant of teaching their children will do this. Parents should trust their children, should be self-examination, should take time off to accompany them, should listen to their aspiration frequently and should understand them more.
